Parks and Plazas
- For information on the Parklife DLC feature: see Park Areas
Parks & plazas provide entertainment for citizens and tourists, and help to increase nearby land value.
There are a variety of parks and plazas available to build. Citizens and tourists will travel to these and spend time enjoying the scenery. These will also have an effect on the "leisure" value of nearby buildings (viewable in the leisure info view), increasing their land value. The magnitude and spread of this effect depends upon the "entertainment accumulation" and "entertainment radius" parameters of the different structures. Sufficient coverage by these assets is needed for many buildings to upgrade.
All of the unique buildings offer some degree of entertainment, and can supplement a city's parks infrastructure.
Like most other buildings, all of these must be placed roadside. (Unlike Park Area buildings from the Parklife DLC.)
As with other services, the parks and plazas budget can be adjusted between 50% and 150%, which subsequently adjusts the entertainment impact of parks and plazas.

Park Maintenance[edit | edit source]

Available only with the Parklife DLC enabled. |
Park Maintenance buildings produce "Park Maintenance Vehicles" to maintain your parks and plazas.
Park Maintenance vehicles will travel around the city, even outside of their "coverage" area, and maintain all parks and plazas. Three parks will be serviced during each vehicle's work shift, and then it will return to the Park Maintenance Building.
The Park Maintenance Boost policy will increase the length of the Park Maintenance vehicles’ shifts by 50%.
All parts of a Park Area are maintained by a visit to the Main Gate of the park.
Parks do not fall into disrepair, but when they are "maintained", they get a temporary boost in their effectiveness. This functions much like the "Road Maintenance" from the "Snowfall" DLC. The boost fades over time until it is back to normal.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Parks and Plazas originally appeared in-game under the heading "Decorations", but were renamed "Parks & Plazas" in Patch 1.4.0-f3 on 22 March 2016.
