The Industries DLC added storage buildings and warehouses to store raw materials and various goods.

Warehouses can operate locally, or can import or export. If all the warehouse trucks are busy when a local building needs to order resources, the local building will import instead. Trucks traveling to/from outside the city can take a fair amount of time to complete their deliveries.[1]

Generic Warehouses can store anything except for Raw Resources, which can only be stored in the Storage Buildings. Each warehouse can only store one type of material, which is predetermined for Storage Buildings, but can be selected from a menu for the Generic Warehouses.

Despite the varying names, Storage Buildings only store the "raw" resource from each area. For example, Forest Industry Storage Buildings all store "Raw Forest Products". Logs, sawdust, and wood chips are all really just "Raw Forest Products". Likewise, all Ore Industry Storage Buildings store "Ore" despite references to sand and minerals.

In addition to the cosmetic differences, they vary in size (area) and capacity, as well as number of jobs and trucks. They also have different costs and upkeep, as well as requiring differing amounts of water and power, and produce varying levels of pollution.

Generic Warehouses[edit]

Generic Warehouses may not store any "raw resources", as they may only be stored in their specific Storage Buildings. Generic Warehouses may store any one of the following processed materials:

  • Animal Products
  • Flour
  • Paper
  • Planed Timber
  • Petroleum
  • Plastics
  • Glass
  • Metals
  • Unique Factory Products
  • Zoned Industry - Forestry Products
  • Zoned Industry - Farming Products
  • Zoned Industry - Ore Products
  • Zoned Industry - Oil Products
  • Zoned Industry - Goods

Forest Industry Storage Buildings[edit]
